#2 Teachers and Librarians, Are you looking for a special project to challenge those independent, self-motivated readers during I Love to Read Month? MYRCA would like to suggest the Mini-Blitz. Read any 3 from our list found at http://www.myrca.ca/ and vote for who you think deserves $1000 prize in June. (You could substitute just about any grouping in there in place of "independent, self-motivated readers" We could even suggest short lists for Historical Fiction Lovers, Sports Fans, Mystery/Adventure Addicts, Realistic Dramas... but then that might skew the results by narrowing the field.) |
A. What's the title of the 2006 winner? B. Which of Kenneth Oppel's books was nominated in 2006? C. Who wrote Heaven Shop? D. How many books do you have to read to fill in a ballot? E. What grades is MYRCA for? F. When's the ballot deadline for 2007? |
#3 Teachers and Librarians, Calling all Historical Fiction Lovers, Sports Fans, Mystery/Adventure Addicts, Realistic Dramas, Science Fiction and Fantasy Devotees! MYRCA has something for everyone during I Love to Read Month. |
#4 Teachers and Librarians, How about the Mini-pack from MYRCA for an I Love to Read Month? Package one of each genre into a pack back/basket/box and give it to a classroom to have for the month. Students can read them as independent projects. Teachers can do a mini-book talks - one a day, or read a small section as a read a loud to get the interest going. Who knows where this will lead? You only need to read 3 to vote on who wins the MYRCA award in May. |
