  1. I thought that this book was very interesting and full of wonder and excitement. It’s all about this girl named Lida who was taken by the Nazis and separated from her sister. She was sent to a work camp with lots of other boys and girls. She ends up meeting a boy named Luka, who has brown hair and torn clothes. He began to help her stay alive in the work camp, and to help her get a job. They say the older you are, the better job you get. This book will make you want to cry, smile, and will make you feel like you’ve been friends with the character, that you will be sad when it ends, and you will want to read it over and over and over again. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes drama, and adventure. I really liked this book, and I hope you do too.

  11. Making Bombs for Hitler was awesome. As librarian at Cranberry Portage Elementary School, I am using this book in my Gr. 7/8 Book Club right now. Any book that makes history come alive for students is A1 in my books…the kids can identify with the characters and learn that character, honour, commitment, strength and servival are in all of us, regardless of our age. Thank you for providing such a tool to teach our young readers about life and inner-strength. Job well done.
